broke through the class barriers of post war Britain and in so doing achieved extraordinary things – working class
heroes whose music left the rest of us who were there with memories of an incredible decade and the best years of

Nearly 60 years ago a music revolution began in one of Britain’s
northern cities that went on to change the face of teen culture forever. At its peak it had over 200 clubs in
the area and produced over 400 bands - the largest number of music groups ever to come from one city. It also
made the Guinness Book of Records for the biggest number of hit singles produced by any single city. The rest
is the stuff legend. Today we call the music by its modern title - Pop Music. And the city that gave rise to
it all? Liverpool!
