John Lennon's Reports

John Lennon at SchoolNot his end of term reports which are already available around the Internet, these four pages were recovered from a Skip (Dumpster) recently in Liverpool. They were given to Chiz Thompson the band leader for Xtreme Machine who were appearing at that time at the Cavern. Chiz has very kindly let us show these historic documents for the first time.

These pages give a fascinating glimpse into the early turbulent life of John, recently depicted in the film Nowhere Boy. It would seem that he managed to incur the wrath of his teacher on almost a daily basis. Some of the writing is barely legible but the words detention, sabotage, Idleness, very bad conduct, incorrect chatter, late for lesson, interjection I think give us a very accurate picture of what John thought about schooldays in general.
