What a night!!! The first Liverpool Beat show at the Hard Days Night
Hotel on Friday 7th May was a sensational sell-out. The bands were just...... fab...a total
knock out. The bands... in order of appearance Searchin, The Bumblies,
Beat Club, The Undertakers , Karl Terry & The
Cruisers and the Cheerful Sinners acoustic act showcased a whole range of
music from Rock 'n Roll to Rhythm & Blues, 60s nostalgia pop, beautiful ballads and acoustic sounds. The
audience just didn't want it to stop. All the bands are to be congratulated for raising their game to match
the occasion. The sound system was brilliant and our thanks go to Steve Morley from
LIPA for doing a fab job. Special thanks go to our compere Paul
Bohan from MerseyCats who did a great job. What a night for Steve Maloney who
must surely be one of Liverpool's best guitarists. He played for a total of four and half hours with
Beat Club, The Bumblies and in Hari's Bar as part of the Cheerful
Sinners with Steff (who incidentally went down a storm) Special mention goes to the Lovely
Lynny who organised the tickets, and band facilities and a special mention must go to the staff at
the Hotel who worked incredibly hard. We apologise for not having enough chairs available, but it was a
compromise between getting everybody in and not offending the Health and Safety rules. Here's a selection of
videos from the night....Play LOUD....
