I visited the Liverpool Rock 'n' Roll
Society on Wednesday 22nd April and I must say the quality of the musicians was just fabulous.
The last time I'd been there was when Ted(Kingsize) Taylor was running it. The people are
super friendly and its a great venue for live music. They meet every Wednesday and its costs £1 to get in and the
drinks are dead cheap. They start off the evening with a ukulele band and anyone with a uke can join in....great
fun. Surprise guest was Karl Terry who is starring at
the Hard Days Night Concert on the 7th May, jamming on drums,
guitar and vocals. All the musicians were superb with special mention for Rockin' Ronnie,
Phil Ford on slide guitar, Tom on Sax, George
Eccles on lead guitar Richie and Mick on Bass,
Kenny Lamb on drums and Jimmy from the
Easybeats giving a great rendition of Alberta. I just about managed to get a
video of Deemo doing Mustang Sally, great voice, but amazingly, he was
also doing origami whilst singing....what talent!!!!!. Thoroughly recommend you put LRAR in your diary and enjoy
a nostalgic night of great live music.
