Sam Hardie the keyboard player from one of Liverpool's greatest bands Kingsize Taylor and The Dominoes and George Eccles the lead guitarist from Rhythm and Blues inc. have recently got together and produced a great piece of nostalgia entitled The Domino Effect 52 years on.

Its 52 years since the beginnings of the Dominoes and this CD takes you back to the earliest roots of Merseybeat with a raft of great numbers plus one or two surprises. Originally they intended to release just 100 copies but the response has been so good that they have pressed a few more. If you would like to purchase the CD contact George on findmasteruk@yahoo.ie. Its priced at 6UKP plus shipping.

Here's a little taster of the CD.

Sam & George 52 Years On Volume 2

Sam Hardie from the Dominoes and George Eccles also now playing with the Dominoes but originally from Rhythm & Blues inc. and Jasmin T have been laying down their second album which is due for release in two weeks time. George has sent me this pre-release copy, a disco version of Buddy Holly's Maybe Baby which is already being played throughout the Discos in Marbella (Ed. Not sure about that one!) See what you are missing Mathew Street.

Artys Merseybeat

Arty Davies one of the originals from the MerseyBeat boom is one of the great stories of the era. Struck down with Polio at an early age, Arty despite his disability became a great drummer. As the years rolled on Arty's condition got worse and he gave up drumming and had to revert to a wheelchair to get about. A few years ago encouraged by members of MerseyCats Arty got up to play again and he has never looked back. Since coming back Arty has played with many of the great MerseyBeat bands and has become a great friend of Faron the MerseyBeat legend. Arty is still playing with The Applejacks. Arty is also one of the great historians of the scene and has compiled his own "Merseypedia" of the bands who played in Liverpool during the sixties.
