John Fowler Pops Everton

Ray Scraggs mate John Fowler is also a prolific author and has recently published this amazing book about possibly the greatest football team in the world ever (Editors personal opinion)

To a whole new generation it must be a mystery how any club without the financial clout could ever be the top club in England. Such a club was Everton.
Everton were the top club in 1987, but the way football is progressing that could have be the last time they may ever win the league.
When the author found his scrapbook he had kept from that season, he found it easier to explain to his grandson how they did it.
This humorous recount of Everton’s journey to victory in 1987 is the perfect Xmas gift for all Evertonians who remember those better times.
(It’s also an excellent present for Liverpool supporters explaining how not to spend £2 trillion on a bunch of losers. Editors personal opinion)
Priced at £5 per copy plus £1 P&P, you can buy the book from John by sending a cheque or postal order to: John Fowler PO box 223, Wirral Cheshire, CH31 9EW

Artys Merseybeat

Arty Davies one of the originals from the MerseyBeat boom is one of the great stories of the era. Struck down with Polio at an early age, Arty despite his disability became a great drummer. As the years rolled on Arty's condition got worse and he gave up drumming and had to revert to a wheelchair to get about. A few years ago encouraged by members of MerseyCats Arty got up to play again and he has never looked back. Since coming back Arty has played with many of the great MerseyBeat bands and has become a great friend of Faron the MerseyBeat legend. Arty is still playing with The Applejacks. Arty is also one of the great historians of the scene and has compiled his own "Merseypedia" of the bands who played in Liverpool during the sixties.
